Today’s review of the day is from FiLife member bjpogi - “This was a great experience going with quicken loans. it was so easy to fill out everything online, and not having to work with a lot of stacks of paper. the coolest thing about the process was closing. they send you a package the day before closing, so that you can review it, and it makes the whole process in signing the next day so easy, and also the closing agent comes to your house or anywhere else that is convenient for you. so easy. i would go with Quicken again in a heartbeat!!!”

Fathead Announces Plans to Move Headquarters to Downtown Detroit

During a speech at the Detroit Economic Club this afternoon, Dan Gilbert, Founder and Chairman of Quicken Loans, revealed the plans to move Fathead to downtown Detroit this summer.

Fathead is the leading brand in sports and entertainment graphic products. Fathead products give fans and families the opportunity to bring their favorite passion or inspiration to life. Fathead products include Fathead Customs, Fathead Tradeables, Fathead Skins, and Fathead’s flagship “Real Big:” the officially licensed life-size, hi-def wall graphics of professional athletes, animated heroes, entertainment characters, team helmets and logos.

Patrick McInnis, CEO of Fathead, said the company’s 60 team members are ecstatic about relocating to Detroit. “We are very pleased to be another company that is making Detroit its home,” he said. “Fathead is a young, edgy company whose team members are looking for a fun, vibrant urban environment. We’re excited to be part of making that environment happen.

Demand for Home Purchase Loans Push Mortgage Applications Higher

Last week there was an increase in demand for home purchase loans which in turn pushed mortgage applications higher. CNBC’s article, “Home Loan Demand Nudges Higher in Latest Week” discusses the increase in mortgage applications and how it will affect the U.S. housing market, which is still very vulnerable. Bill Emerson the CEO of Quicken Loans was interviewed and had this to say:

“The lofty level of homes either on the market for sale or about to hit the market through foreclosures and short sales are the biggest threat to the U.S. housing market.

‘This inventory will pressure prices, so many people are sidelined right now, waiting for prices to fall further,’ he said.”

Today’s review of the day is from Epinion’s memeber Hcooper1 – “I recently refinanced my home mortgage with Quicken loans. I’ve owned several homes and this was by far the easiest mortgage process ever. I made a brief inquiry over the internet and was contacted by a representative. I almost hung up as I was being bombarded with calls from other institutes but their professional attitude and sincerity really caught my attention. From that point on, they walked me through each step. Most of the information was uploaded to Quicken but some items were faxed. When I did have questions, my loan advisor was always quick to call me back. He helped me change my current interest only loan in to a 30 fixed, with a lower rate and lower monthly payments. When it came time to close on my loan, Quicken sent me a package ahead of time to review and then had a notary public come to me, so I could finish my loan without having to take time off of work or drive across town. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Quicken Loans to anyone looking to refinance or purchase a new home! In fact, two of my friend are currently using Quicken Loans for their mortgage process and have had similar experiences!”

Today’s review of the day is from Viewpoints member Tmvargo - “My husband and I were purchasing our first home. We had gone to a realtor who wouldn’t deal with us until we were pre-approved for a mortgage and gave us a list of local mortgage companies to contact. We called every company on the list, half of which wanted nothing to do with us because of the amount of student loans I had in deferrment. I was online late one evening and discovered Quicken Loans. I figured I would fill out the online request and see what happened from there. I woke up the next morning with an e-mail, followed by a phone call from Chris Hines. Chris was patient and explained the process and our options. He also made suggestions. It felt as if we were speaking with a friend…”
